Holiday Weekend

Glad the holiday weekend is finally over. Too many nights staying up until midnight - the kids included!

On the 4th we had Mark, Amy, Christine, Cory, JD, Ellen and Pam over for fireworks. It got pretty cool in the evening (in the 60's) so we bought some firewood and lit the firepit. Everyone roasted marshmellows and sat out by the fire. When it was good and dark we lit off the remaining fireworks we had from the night before as well as a "grand finale" one that was called "one bad mother" that JD picked up earlier in the day. It was just gorgeous outside by the fire, everyone in jeans and long sleeve shirts, tiki torches going to keep the mosquitos away. We stayed out talking until around midnight and then called it a night.

Saturday morning, Steve and I went to yoga. The girls and I just hung around the house and yard. They rode bikes and played and then I gave them an early bath and they went to bed at a decent hour that night. They still haven't caught up with all their sleep and their temperments are showing the results of it. Lots of whining - plus, Isabella is running a fever and is saying she's dizzy and it hurts to swallow. I'm guessing an ear infection so I'll call the Ped in the morning.

Ava is calling - her movie is over so off to tend to her and the mound of laundry that accumulated over the weekend with everyone changing clothes 3 times a day do to the crazy weather (cold in the am, warmer in the day, cool at night - plus pajamas and changes of clothes for STeve and I from the gym).
